James Davison x James Long AW15
Designer James Long's AW15 collection featured exclusive prints by illustrator James Davison, whose work has also recently graced the walls of Johnny Woo's new club The Glory and Sibling's concession at Dover St Market.
Davison's male characters and sketches remind me of the work of Glen Hanson's hyper pumped up men and also Robert Richards for their unabashed sexiness, but with a greater energetic and colourful sketch-like quality.

The continued rise in men’s fashion worldwide results in the increased interest
in its illustrated depiction worldwide.
The works on display at The Hospital Club during London Collections: Men showcase a series of original works by prominent illustrators. This selection is part of the upcoming exhibition Drawings: Men & Style curated by Gemma A Williams at Paul Smith, No. 9 Albemarle Street, London, starting February 2015.
The series selected highlights in particular the drawing of British menswear and the British interpretation of men’s style. From the bold and graphic to the finely detailed, these works explore their perceptions of the modern male and his engagement with fashion.
Launched to coincide with upcoming title Menswear Illustration by Richard Kilroy, published by Thames & Hudson, the book offers a definitive overview into this unique area profiling its most respected leaders and examining the works which makes them the fashion industry’s most celebrated illustrators.
